That's an extremely vague statement. It's hard to advise you without more specifics. If you're clear in your communication and treat everyone with respect, you should be fine navigating your workplace regardless of the gender/age/race make up of your co-workers. Retirement seems like an extreme option to avoid dealing with unspecified "communication issues". Has your communication style been criticized by your co-workers? If so, why? Have you been warned not to do or say certain things because they're offensive? Are you having other issues with your co-workers? Have you taken any steps (read books, taken classes, gone to webinars) to correct these issues? Is this a new problem or an ongoing one? More context and detail would be appreciated so people can give you better advice.
