How to not be anxious

How to not be anxious........That question I don’t know. For me I usually continue to be anxious till I finish doing whatever it is that’s making me nervous. My sophomore term is coming up for me and I just can’t shake this anxiousness. I start thinking of the affects school is going to take on my day to day life. Especially now that I’m in a different atmosphere, dealing with different things. I’m curious, if any one wants to share, what do you do to get over these anxious feelings? I would appreciate hearing it!

Make a list of the decisions or tasks that you'll have to take everyday. I usually make my list the night before, then tackle the hardest one first thing in the morning. This usually builds up my courage to tackle the rest of my day. This reinforce a growth pattern whereas anxiety often comes from scarcity of resources or ideas to solve our daily challenges. Awesome step for even asking, its shows you are willing to try!

I have found it helpful to break things down into smaller steps and focus on the next step. You can make the steps as small or short as you need them to be. Looking too far into the future, whether it’s seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years can seem overwhelming which raises anxiety. You can do it!

Think positive with a can-do attitude. Not always easy to do. I’ve kept repeating it until I believed that “I got this no problem! I can do this! “

I’ve had anxiety my whole life. I’ve found some things that help manage it, but nothing has made it go away completely. For me, talking to a therapist has been the biggest help. Mediation also helps me to gain a better understanding of my feelings and how I can’t wish them away, but instead figure out what they are trying to tell me. I hope you’re able to find something that helps alleviate your anxiety :)
