i don't think this is an unreasonable question. Without knowing what the job is that you are interviewing for, client is probably trying to find out what you really want to do and what your long term goals are. And trying to see if you are a long term fit for the company. What you did previously, should be on your resume. I think a psychology degree is a good liberal arts education and is useful in any job situation. I would have further coached you to say that you have a passion for business thus leading to your business degree.

You have some great advice from the answers in this thread. I too think they were most likely just trying to get to know you a bit more and discover your intentions for your career path so that it becomes a good fit mutually.
