UX design is a great field to be interested in and is in demand. I'd suggest you do some Googling for "junior UX designer" positions to see what companies are looking for. You're going to need to learn about visual design, information architecture, usability and maybe even psychology. In addition, you still need to have a strong grasp of both HTML and CSS (and possibly Javascript) if you're going to be designing for web/mobile devices. I'd strongly advise you to still get that CS degree since you're a year away from graduating and it's still a highly valuable degree. But if you don't think programming is going to be a fit for you, UX design might be a good way to go.

Agreed with Rhonda! It's challenging to make it through a computer science degree, so first off congrats on making it this far. It can be easy to feel like you don't know enough within Computer Science considering the infinite and ever-growing scope of the subject, and CS degrees don't always equip you with the skills to get hands on in actually building something, especially if you stick to the core requirements (Operating Systems, Data Structures, etc.). What helped me to learn more about real-world tools and frameworks was pursuing side projects that forced me to go through tutorials and learn about web development + other concepts as I went. I recommend looking for student hackathons if you're not sure where to get started (here are some! https://devpost.com/hackathons). No worries about actually building something that works -- the most important thing is exposure to some of the real-world tech that will help you figure out what exactly you want to do with your CS degree after college. And as a bonus, you might end up with a project for your portfolio! Good luck :)

Kudos to you for your progress so far! I am an IT major and I know for a fact that it takes a highly intelligent and analytical individual to make it through a degree program in Computer Science Engineering. You my dear are that highly intelligent and analytical individual and I ask that you please give yourself credit for your success thus far! Having one year remaining in the program I highly suggest taking on some paid or volunteer assignments to assist local agencies, churchs, and non profit organizations in your area. There are also a variety of gigs that you can do online through sites like upwork.com. These gigs as well as volunteer work can be listed on your resume as professional experience which may give you a leg up over others job seekers.

Can you say more about what you think you don't know enough about? Computer science? ux/ui?
