I was laid off due to COVID in July. I luckily started a new job in September. Although there was no mention of travel in the job description or interviews and we are currently experiencing no travel with COVID, I have a feeling that once things go back to normal, there may be events I'm asked to attend. This is in the back of my head every day because I am actually terrified of flying after an incident 5 years ago. I haven't been on a plane since and I really don't want to face this professionally. I feel that going somewhere would put me in a more compromising situation than refusing to go since my anxiety is not manageable. My previous two employers were very understanding and my jobs did not require travel. Is this something I should address and get off my chest now? Should I wait till it becomes a reality? I have also heard it's possible to complete an ADA which would protect me if I have my therapist confirm my inability to travel. I would also be comforted to know that I'm not alone! Thank you all for your insights.
