I'm in the final stages of possibly landing a job at a phenomenal company out of state, in an area I'd love to move to. My SO and I would rent out there but we need to sell our house first. His job is flexible so no issue there and we don't have kids. Luckily we live in a desirable area where the houses…
Here are a things to keep in mind:

I was let go at 63. Fortunately, my severance lasted a year, and I found another job a few weeks before it ran out *whew*
I drove food delivery, which helped me financially as well as emotionally. Getting tips and being successful at something helped counter the negativity and hopelessness that was creeping in before I started that.

I am very sorry for what happened to you. As others have noted, it would be helpful to know what your role was or at least in which functional area you worked to point you in the right direction.
During your 8 years working in big pharma, you must have developed connections within and outside of your place(s) of employment. (It is unclear if you have had one employer in the past 8 years.) If you have some idea of what types of jobs and organizations you would like to target, tap that network to let people know you are available to work!!!
Think of people who can attest to your quality of work and professionalism. Reach out to those with and without hiring authority. Consider contacts who work for organizations that provide bonuses to employees who refer candidates who are hired and stay on the job for a certain length of time. Request informational interviews and ask for assistance on revising your resume for your targeted roles. If possible, offer something in return for the assistance you are seeking, for example, passing along some industry news that might be overlooked by someone who is too busy to monitor all of the minor headlines. Always follow up by thanking the individuals who take the time to help you.
As someone who previously worked in pharma, I know how valuable certifications and memberships in professional organizations can be. If you are a member of a professional organization, take full advantage of its resources. Such organizations typically offer networking opportunities and courses at lower cost for members.
If you are completely in the dark about what to do next, or if you know you would like a career transition, you might consider your options for career counseling. Although it is natural for you to worry due to your situation, with the help of a career counselor you could more easily view your circumstances in a positive vein and avoid focusing on the negative, since doing so will not yield the desired outcome.

And, yes, as others have advised, apply for unemployment compensation especially if you do not have severance pay. Make sure to investigate other forms of public assistance that you are eligible to receive (lower utility rates based on income, food assistance, etc.).
