What is stealing your joy?

Great article that I found today! What inputs are stealing your joy? Do any of these resonate with you? They sure did with me! I didn't realize that my striving for perfection, re-living the past, and worrying about the future were stealing my joys of today. I am not living in the moment and that stops today. Now I'm off to enjoy this day, play some golf with my son and husband, and learn to live in the moment! https://www.huffpost.com/entry/11-toxic-behaviors-that-w_b_5586342

Great article! I think several of these tie into each other - the comparison game plays a huge part in how obsessed we become with drama, social media (seeing other people's "highlight reels" and feeling like we don't live up), etc. If you enjoy reading, I highly recommend "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. It's a great book with a lot of wisdom on how to live a more fulfilled life. One of my favorites!

Thank you! I will have to check it out. I love reading and learning more insight on how to be more fulfilled and just a better person in general. I am in a 6 week study right now on a book by Jeanie Allen called Get Out of Your Head. It is a great book with a workbook to go along with it, It uses the book of Philippians to help you discover how to stop toxic thoughts and get out of your own head. Great read and study. Have a phenomenal week!

We as humans are programmed to focus on the future , to learn from the past and to work extremely hard in the present, to ensure we accomplish the success we so eagerly want. We often times get distracted or discouraged on the path to success, but taking the time out to enjoy all the beautiful moments life has to offer, is not a distraction. Feeling and experiencing enjoyment, builds and promotes a happier life style. We get so caught up in trying to survive life, or trying to become the best version of ourselves, instead of enjoying life. Every moment in our lives deserve to be enjoyed because today is happening, while tomorrow is not always promised.

Good for you! I think only you can steal your own joy. Shakespeare wrote- “ there is no good or bad. Only thinking makes it so,” That has stuck with me.

My former supervisor and one of my best friends would say, don’t let anyone steal your joy,” taught me that I’m going to enjoy life although someone else might be a grump. Worked in customer service at the time which I dealt with people who weren’t always happy.
