Company reaching out during work-from-home

I had a nice surprise yesterday. Fedex dropped off a package on the door step in the morning, and I wasn't expecting anything. I discovered that my company reached out to a local bakery and had a dozen individually wrapped cookies in a tin sent to each employee with a note thanking us for everything we're doing during this difficult time. Has your company reached out? Our president also has a 30-minute Zoom touch-base on Friday afternoons, sharing any business information and opening it up for questions.

It's so good to hear examples of companies who are thoughtful and appreciative of the tough times their employees are going through. For most companies, we're easily expendable and a cost item to be managed. I hope we all remember how companies treated their employees during this crisis when the economy gets back on its feet. There are massive more people unemployed than ever before, and they need to know what companies look after each other when it's hard.

I *know* you guys are working for home, but for God's sake, is it not possible for a company to just "order" something nice and have it sent to you? Why did they have to have "reached out"??? I am so sick of that phrase I wish I could inflate it with Corona. And not the beer! Stop reaching out like a bunch of myna birds and creatively use the language you guys are capable of. UGH!!!

Love hearing this! I am currently working on a "care package" for my employees as well. I like the different ways companies are trying to support their employees and being human in these unique times. Thanks for share! :)

My company opened an account at a local restaurant and invited us all to order take out breakfast for our households. They made the offer good for a week, so that we could pick which day we wanted to indulge. My son was smart - he got bacon pancakes and OMG they were amazing!!

Simple, but effective. This is how it should be done.

That's great gesture! My company's CEO posted a video last week, and he had it captioned in some languages as some of our folks are from Central and South America. They may comprehend English as much as I do, but i thought this is still nice act.

Thank you for sharing this, LadyPele! What a fabulous gesture from your employer. My employer hasn't done anything like that, however, you've inspired me to initiate that with my co-workers.

You're invited.
