Recently, I've been offered a position that is a fantastic opportunity. It allows for career growth, ability to form my own department and expand my skillset. The company is great, as are the people and salary is more than commensurate for the area we would live in. However, it does require us to relocate (not far, about 1.5 hours) and my husband needs to request a transfer with his job. My dilemma is that I have already accepted this role, but feel confident another offer is coming from a second company I wrapped up interviewing with. That company offers a remote role, which would allow us to stay in the area that we love now and would not require my husband to change positions either. Salary is TBD, but it is an equally interesting opportunity, allowing me to stay in the industry I was in prior and gives the option to travel to new places. Overall, both opportunities are amazing and I'm worried about having accepted another offer if this other one does indeed come through. The primary issue is that when I had applied to the first role (the one I've accepted), my husband's company stated they could facilitate a transfer immediately should I receive it and now that it has become a reality, they have reneged, stating there isn't an opportunity for him to transfer. I can't ignore that it's possible my husband will now need to embark on a career journey of his own to accommodate me or have a terrible commute. Seeking any advice as to how to choose should the second offer come to fruition. Thank you!
