Is it too late for me

I have worked at a church for twenty years as an EA for one of the pastors. I’m ready to move on but not stop working. With my background do I stand a chance of finding another position out there in the non-church workforce?

It's not too late! These days, people change and shift all the time. Focus on what companies are looking for and how to position your great experience to fit the bill (which is does!)

Agreed with SixFigureSalaryCoach. It's definitely not too late! Your skillsets can move over by industry, depending on the types of roles you're looking into.

Of course you do! Skills are skills no matter what the industry. You just have been in your job for so long you're unsure of what is out there. But to answer your question...yes. I would advise you to begin looking at 20 or more job descriptions; not to apply but just to see what is being requested. When companies hire me to do recruiting we do something called job benchmarking. That is comparing the 'talent" to the job requirements. So, the industry is not necessarily a major factor, though sometimes it is preferred. Put that fear behind you! God is willing & able.
