Stumbled across FGB and love the design, but I’m trying to find something else most recently for my career: a part-time job. I’m a first time mom after a 15 year career and I’m excited to be working again — but I don’t think FT, 9-5 (which is never 9-5), 5 days a week is *right* at this point in my life. That’s not balance — working 3 days a week as a mom, would be. I searched “part time” here out of curiosity, knowing what I’d find. I lead Product at a media company — I don’t want to leave my career to work in retail. I want to truly achieve mom-work-life balance. And that doesn’t mean give me childcare - it means I need to focus on my family half of my time, and then actually really have a day off. My rant here is in raising the question: could organizations recognize the value of qualified PT contributors? Could higher level positions be fulfilled by PT employees?
