Honestly, some of the best care I do for myself on weekends is getting stuff done around the house! My partner and I recently bought a house, and there's only so much we can get done on a week night while also keeping up on dinner, dishes, and laundry. Last weekend, we hit the hardware store and spent almost a whole day installing a storm door. Last night, I spent two hours organizing all of my tools. Sometimes, self-care is doing the hard work today so that Future You doesn't have to look at random containers of spackle in your living room. :D

What Kathie said above is key. Taking care of yourself goes much deeper then baths and books - though still great! It's about checking in with yourself, reaching out if you need help, and really being mindful about how you feel. Scheduling time for this on the weekend can be great to see how you're doing. I've also recently started incorporating creative time where I set a timer and sit with a pen and paper and just write or draw whatever comes to mind - no pressure or cues. Not only is this great for your creative mind, it can help you see if you're struggling, get things out on paper and more. Hope that helps!

I think self-care is totally misunderstood. Don’t get me wrong, I take bubble baths, get massages, and find time for hobbies, but I believe self-care is much bigger. It’s also important to take care of yourself mentally/emotionally. Make time to meet with friends and talk. See a counselor. Read a self help book. Stand up for yourself and be real. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion. We found a great podcast and the speaker talks a lot about the real meaning of self care. Look up Deal With It! on a podcast app like Apple Podcasts or Stitcher. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deal-with-it/id1075949898?i=1000452773519

Getting my nails done. It forces me to do nothing while for them to dry!
