Struggles of Losing Weight

Hi there Ladies, I am trying to lose weight and have been trying for the past 6 months. I have only lost 4 lbs :( I know that weight loss takes time and such, but I feel as if I should have lost more weight by now. I am giving up sweets for lent so I have a better chance of losing more, but I feel like there is a slim chance of that happening. Do you have any recommendations if you have struggled to lose weight? I might go and see a nutritionist to get some closure because I feel as if I don't have a set regimen then I won't succeed. My boyfriend does not cook so he won't be super supportive of my diet and change so I'm basically going to be doing this on my own. Any tips?

I've been up and down with my weight most of my life. It was easier to maintain when I was super active in high school, gained in college, then have been set on really losing the past few years. I recently started keto and it is one of the only diets that actually works well for me. I'm not super strict on it but am conscious of what I'm eating and tending to opt more low carb where possible. I also practice intermittent fasting as I don't tend to be as hungry on keto as well. I'm down 35 lbs over the past eight months. Everyone is different but know you'll be able to find what works for you! I strongly recommend downloading the MyFitnessPal app as it helps you keep track of your daily calorie intake, exercise, water intake, etc. Best of luck!

Girl story of my LIFE! I have always been active - sports growing up, working out, eating healthy etc. My shortness and family genes = me gaining weight just thinking about it. However, now I'm in my mid 30's and I don't know if it's my age. If it's my mental health. If it's the state I live in or the fact that the last 8 years have literally been emotional and mental and physical hell but my weight is at the highest it's been since I was pregnant. I feel so discouraged and disgusted and unhappy with my body that I am literally at wits end.

I just checked with my insurance company and they will only pay for a nutritionist if I’m overweight and at risk for cardiovascular disease. Since I’m 26, the risk is low so it will not be covered :( I have to go on my own to do this

Weight loss can be very frustrating. But you will find your way! I would suggest start with tracking what you are eating and drinking. You can use an app like MyFitnessPal or just a notebook. Just gather information. If you use an app, you can see more detail information like your calorie, carbohydrate, fat sugar, and protein intake. With that information you can see where you need to make adjustments. There are so many paths that you can take as far as new eating plans, etc. You will have to do research and find what works best for you. But, I think tracking is a good start point.

The only success I have had is working a weight loss program. I am doing WW. It is cheap to purchase the online app, ($20 a month,) keeps me accountable daily, and works! I belong to a WW Face Book group that is better than trying to get to meetings. It's a great program!
