As I jump into week two of my new normal, I reflect to some of the changes that I have made to accommodate this new reality.
Give your pets the attention that they need. They too are getting accustomed to a new normal, and wondering why everyone is home all of a sudden.
Make sure that you keep to as close to a schedule as possible. It is so much easier to work earlier/later because we are missing that commute to work. Create some division so that you keep a work/life balance to the best of your ability.
Try to keep to a routine eating schedule. I don't know about you, but I find myself constantly snacking now that I am working from home. I found that if I stock up on fruits and veggies, that it helps me to keep it balanced, and a bit healthier.
Respect family time. Just because we are all home together doesn't mean that we are getting quality family time together. Try to pull out a board game, or watch a movie together, or set a routine to eat dinner together. The more you make it a part of a routine, the more likely it will happen.
Set time to check in with your team, manager, and co-workers often. It is so easy to plug away at your every day responsibilities, and lose touch with each other because you are not in your office environment. Don't practice out of sight, out of mind. Take this time to strengthen bonds by staying in touch.
Hoping that these tips help you to create a good routine, and help you create a new normal in these uncertain times.
Stay safe and healthy!
