Advice Please?

I'm a stay at home mom and caregiver. I have three children to look after, and I get help but I don't want to be dependent on everyone else forever. Basically I'm 25 years old with no job skills and I want a better future for my son and nephews, but I don't where to start. I'm probably reaching, but I'm looking for stay at home work. (Did mention I have No job skill)

You have more skills than you allow yourself to admit to having! What you do is immensely profound and difficult. Give yourself grace and believe in your abilities. Have you looked at udemy.com or other online learning portals? You can browse a ton of different career categories and take trainings for like $10. Something like this could spark an interest and lead you on your way. I am giving you a big hi-five through my monitor. Reach out to me any time for support!

"Stay at home mom and caregiver" IS a job skill. It's a vital job skill. If you weren't there, how much would it cost to have those kids safely looked after? I always grit my teeth when I see perfectly capable people belittle those skills. That said, you can volunteer, you can join on line classes, and more than that, you can work as a home care giver. Several states hire competent and caring people to help care for seniors and disabled people in their own homes, usually just a few tasks to make their lives easier. Look for "In Home Support Services" through your state Social Security web site. It's not far from there to look into nursing and related work. Good luck!

I also recommend volunteering. I obtained two positions directly from the volunteer work I did. Check houses of worship, schools, as well as non-profits in your area. You can put these experiences on your resumé AND use your contacts as references. Your local employment office will have information as well as possible programs in your area. A better future for your son and nephews begins by building a better future for yourself. If you truly have no employment history or job skills, you might want to look into job training services offered by your county. Our community college has a "Workforce Services" program which matches potential employees with jobs and offers training and scholarships. Most legitimate work from home positions, such as customer service or writing, require at least some experience to get your foot into the door. Are you planning on trying to work from home while also caring for three children at the same time, and is that realistic? Instead of trying to juggle a job and children, you could offer your services as a nanny and bring in one or two more children to your home to watch during the day. Childcare.gov has resources to find what the requirements are for starting an in-home care business: https://www.childcare.gov/state-resources-home
