What's your superpower? How do you use it at work?

I'm a storyteller. For a long time, I thought that meant I was meant to be a writer, but now I'm trying my hand at the audio version of storytelling (podcasting) and loving it!

So many great superpowers out there - I love them! This is where diversity's value really comes to life. That's diversity of approach and thinking, which only happens with diversity of gender, background, skills and experiences. My personal superpower is bringing order to chaos. It's even on my CV. If you give me a mess, I intuitively find a structure that can sort it out, and I can share it with others so they want to help sort it out too. In some ways I built my career on that, solving problems in all sorts of areas.

I help people figure out how to be better/faster/stronger. I help you ferret out what's really wrong in your department/organization and implement ideas for making it right, and keeping it right. I'm especially good at it when it involves the "peopley" parts. Sometimes the things we need to implement to get the peopley parts to work better/faster/stronger feel icky, but I like them.

Super spy! As flippant as that sounds, I have a thirst for knowledge even when it's entirely useless information, and this translates well in my career field. Whether it's being able to identify an unknown subject in threat investigation or being hyper observant while on a client's site and noticing things other people tend to miss, on more than one occasion my "intelligence gathering" skills have surprised those I work for and with. I'm also a fairly nervous spy, so I always have a backup plan, and this has been very helpful when technology has failed!

Not flippant at all! We need your skill in today's world - and I think it doesn't come naturally to many of us.

I'd like to think I'm a joy-spreader and confidence-builder. I love living life through my five senses and inspiring others to take note of those little magic moments of sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound that make life more delightful. I also do this through wardrobe/personal style sessions- guiding women towards finding the pieces that express their personalities and moods and make them feel their most genuine selves.

What a great way to combine your superpower with your job! I heard Ingrid Fetell Lee speak earlier this year about her book Joyful and I've tried to follow her advice on colors and shapes and smells, etc. as I decorate my new office.

Oh and speaking of books, two of the ones that really spoke to me and got me onto the "sensory path" are by Sarah Ban Breathnach: - Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy - Something More: Excavating Your Authentic Self I read them, I don't know, maybe 16 or 17 years ago? I really loved them!

I'm the public speaker. It doesn't matter how many people are in the audience or how little I've prepared. You need someone to get people's attention and teach them something? I'm your girl.

I find things such as information or resources. My team members go do you have ... and if I don’t have an item or idea that would work.
