Various online courses like PMP, Data Scientist , AWS etc. , helps in getting a good job?

I would like my Career consultants, HR professionals and IT friends here to share, what do they think about online courses that people take to apply for jobs. Is this possible, people from different educational backgrounds taking up these courses will land up in good profiles? Giving exams and getting a certification, how far is this reliable and beneficial for a non-working or working in different profile person. And if, this is a good option, what programs should a person opt for ?

I have found that certifications are the way to go. I am not certified (quite yet) but it definitely looks better if you have extra letters after your name.

So, basically we can take up any course online (cost, irrespective), if we are interested in a particular field?

Using the Mother background. PMP - Program/Project Management Program can be done online and then the test too. Have you managed children towards what /where they needed to go, you met expectations and deadlines. PMP test is expensive as well as the cert is paid every so often to maintain the standing. Consider a CAPM - which is a certified assistant program/project manager. Also you can be a member of the PMI chapter, network with people to meet the people who work at companies. As to AWS course which is company specific - Amazon Web Services, I only know of being selected by Amazon and trained by them. If there is such a cohort forming by your area which you can attend, apply for it. Aptitude and attitude helps.

You might try the online version of BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) Occupational Handbook to help you gauge your direction. https://www.onetonline.org/ It will take stock of possible interests which will help you in realizing what direction do you want to start from. Could you explain in further detail which online courses that you are referring to? When you mentioned different educational backgrounds; it is more of what is your aptitude to get you started in a direction.
