Severance while on maternity leave - My employer will be closing its doors at the end of this year and I have been offered a severance if I stay until the last day.
Unfortunately I will be 6 weeks into maternity leave at that point (too early to tell HR I'm pregnant though). Are employees on maternity leave and FMLA considered active employees? Will I get the severance even if I am not in the office on the last day? Will my maternity leave be cut short on the last day? Would the government consider me unemployed or disabled at that point? Could I collect unemployment? Help!
