Best place to donate professional clothing?

I have a closet full of beautiful plus-size clothes that I am reluctant to donate because they are so nice (and weren't cheap). Can anyone recommend the best places to donate so these will actually be available to women who need them?

Many colleges have a professional dress loan service in their career centers so that ready to graduate students will have something to wear to their interviews. Many students can’t afford to buy professional clothes. If you have your choice of colleges in the area, donate to a community college or large public school.

Some options to consider: • https://dressforsuccess.org/get-involved/donation-drives/ • https://www.jailstojobs.org/free-interview-clothes/ • http://careergear.org/get-involved/donate-clothing/ • https://www.wardrobe.org/donate • http://whw.org/donations/

Plus-size clothing is typically in very high demand and less-frequently donated, so your donation will be very much appreciated!

Hi. I think it is wonderful you want to donate clothes. I was able to give some work clothes to the women’s shelter. In my area it is through the Rescue Mission. They help the women with interview skills and the like. Perhaps check that out. There is so much need out there. I hope this helps.

Consider Dress for Success. It is a non-profit organization that helps empower women to be successful in the workforce. Donated clothing is given to women who don't have professional clothing for interviews or to wear to work.

Google your community or even try city hall or a community outreach center even some of the churches. Alot of these places operate and help women needing to get back into the workforce for whatever reason. Sometimes even the local library knows of community centers and places that really need professional wear to help out ladies!

Look into women’s shelters they work with getting women careers. Call them and ask if they do any sort of job training, then ask if they take clothing donations.

Dress for Success. They accept nearly new, contemporary, seasonal career-appropriate apparel, accessories, handbags, shoes and jewelry, with a particular need for sizes 00 to 2 and sizes 14 and above. I personally purged my closet and donated many suits, blouses, pumps, and handbags. We have gone from a more structured/formal look to business casual where I work, so I was happy to make a difference in the lives of women who are in need if this type of clothing!
