Hello all, I'm hoping you can give me a little bit of advice or guidance. I've had an amazing 8 years with my current company but opportunities for the role I'd like to take on are far and few between, to say nothing of how competitive they are. My career goal is to become a Learning Operations Specialist or Instructional Designer.
Currently I support one of my training centers and am actually helping the new supervisor for my location take on their role. I also actively train employees for my company in both classroom and on the job setting and have helped with facility and course enrollment. I do this while managing my time between a training location and an actual home location within my company where I'm trained in all departments. I've been working on obtaining this goal for years but it doesn't seem like it's gotten me any closer to the job of my dreams. I've applied for positions within my company and positions at other companies but I have not had any progress. I think that some fresh perspective on this would be incredibly helpful. Do any of you have advice on how to increase my experience in this field and move closer to the career path that's right for me?
