I want to hear about your cold-weather hobbies!

As someone who struggles a lot when the days get short and cold, I'm looking to be proactive this year and come up with more creative things to do inside. What are some of your favorite fall/winter activities that don't involve binge-watching tv (already great at that lol)?

I scrapbook and make hand stamped cards, so I can do that all winter long. I have friends who crochet, some who love the adult coloring books, and a lot who read. I love reading too. Perhaps it's time to start looking into some on-line classes? you could take one over the winter.

You probably won't like it, but truly this is what I do. I clean and organize my clothese closet, my kitchen cabinets, my office shelves and cabinets. And I clean out EVERY piece of paper that's been piling up! LOL I just thought about this last night...how excited I am that winter is coming so I can get my house organized!!

We hit the local Friday night football games and support the team or find fall festivals to attend. At home I like try my hand at making decorations for the holidays like wreaths.

Sometimes I cannot even overcome the blues to dance - which is what I also like to do for exercise - but I can convince myself to stretch -- that stretching isn't a great deal of effort (my story and I stick to it) I am lucky to have a stretching video my daughter created, but as with Zumba and other dance opportunities on Youtube, there are stretching/yoga vids to follow as well -- after a good stretching effort, sometimes I can convince myself that now my muscles are 'warm', so I should dance -- even a 1/2 hour dance at that point is usually enough sufficient to blow away the blues!

Dancing! It's my favorite way to stay in shape over winter. There are tons of follow-along workout videos on YouTube, and it's much more fun than regular exercise videos. You could also head to a studio to enjoy a more social experience. I do Bollywood dance at a studio once a week, and BollyX (dance fitness, like Zumba for Bollywood) at home. It puts me in a good mood when the weather does not.

I love baking and cooking so sometimes I put more time into more complex recipes. Cross stitch is another favorite and keep telling myself to get back into drawing. And some people I still connect to via letter writing

I'm an avid golfer, so in the cold seasons, I go once a week to the golf dome and practice. Additionally, I like to take a Tai Chi class during the winter for mind & body relaxation.

Hi Jennie, your list sounds much like mine -cooking and baking, knit or crochet, catching up w friends (over skype, though, my handwriting has always been nearly illegible!). I also get into big puzzles, reading, and writing.
