Seeking Advice

I recently started a job (2 months ago) but have realized that I can't afford to work there, I make about 3x more as a bartender...I feel terrible about quitting so soon but can't pay my bills. What do i do?

Do you like the job? Is it worth possibly working two jobs while you try to work your way up in your current job to make more money and be able to support yourself? You could also mention this to your boss and see if they are able to increase your pay at all so you can afford to continue working there.

I recently had a job where I took a HUGE payout and I did it because I loved the role. I ended up with $15 in my bank account each payday. I mentioned it to my boss and he said "well sometimes you have to take a paycut to do what you love" As much as I loved that job, the stress was too much for me so I started looking elsewhere. I'm not sure what state you're in but most states are employment at will (both employer and employee). I would just be honest with them. I practice HR and always understand when that happens. Your sincerity will show and you won't burn any bridges.

I mean you need to be able to pay your bills - I would suggest if you really like your job either taking on a second job or taking up some extra work on the side for a few months until you can ask for a raise. If that's not possible (or you don't like your job) then it's probably best to leave and take the job where you'll be able to support yourself.
