I need to update my resume and I have been dreading the process. I haven't updated my resume since I started my job 2 years ago. Since then I have done so many things that I could put on there, but the task is daunting. How to succinctly summarize it all has given me writer's block. Also, I'd like some input on another aspect of resume's.
Many resume samples are the epitome of someone who has all the success in the world. What about times in your career that you struggled and maybe didn't have many wins (not without effort) and perhaps had a not so glamorous job while looking for a better one.
Another issue that personally bothers me is that I haven't finished my degree. I have over 90 credit hours, but no degree.
I have over 13 years of management experience, but no degree. There's a lot to be said for real-world experience. I work in the medical field and we have monthly leadership meetings. I work with people that have varying degrees of education, but I bring a lot to these conversations because of my experience. Just wondering how much this impacts readers of resumes?
