You can have a mindful, productive, meaningful morning without feeling pressured to work out

Sweet mindfulness can feel SO GOOD when you’re setting the tone for your day! Life can be busy as heck (and don’t we know it!) so taking the time to focus in the morning feels luxurious and necessary— like a hot cup of coffee! (Does anyone else just sit with their warm coffee mug for a minute, soaking in the warmth and goodness? No, just me? ;) ) I know it can be hard to take time for yourself in the mornings. They’re already so rushed! My solution has been to start getting up a little earlier each day to give myself some dedicated me-time :) I get up about 60-90 minutes early every day (although that sounds crazy to start with— I started this process at like fifteen minutes, or some days even just five minutes early and worked my way up). Solitude, and warm, delicious Coffee are the carrots I dangle to get myself up. (If I were getting up to go work out right away, there’s no way I’d actually get up. For me, that’s not motivating at all. But coffee, peace, and quiet BEFORE my adventurous dog walk? Now THAT is worth it to me!) Find what makes you happy to wake up! Maybe it’s a great song, or the opportunity to eat breakfast without your kids interrupting you. Find something that feels good to you, and let that motivate you. Some of my favorite things are: >> Meditating - This one takes less than 10 minutes >*>*> http://braveheartopenmind.com/7-minute-self-love-meditation >> Self-Reflection - Which can be as simple as writing down some things your grateful for, or it can be a little more guided like this reflection on identifying your personal strengths >*>*> http://braveheartopenmind.com/2019/09/self-confidence-reflection-exercise And this one focuses on self-love >*>*> http://braveheartopenmind.com/2019/10/build-your-own-affirmations And this one is a quiz-style self-reflection >*>*> http://braveheartopenmind.com/confidence-quiz >> Yoga (Specifically Yoga with Adriene) Her YouTube channel is sweet, accepting, mindful, and grounding! And if you've never tried yoga before, she's got excellent beginner videos! If you ARE looking for an intense workout, she's got those too :) >*>*> https://www.youtube.com/user/yogawithadriene >> Podcasts - These can be great for learning new things, and if you find one you like, it can be super motivating if you know that getting out of bed means tea and a podcast :) Taking time for yourself won’t always be perfect (today my two sweet doggos interrupted me for playtime like 95 times before they decided to settle down and be mindful too), but trying to be better for yourself, and trying to carve out time to help focus your mind can be totally life-changing! (Not, like, Nutella life-changing, but it does allow room in your life for more self-love, self-care, and an open mindset. And THAT is worth it!) YOU are worth it! (You SO are!!)
