Almost 30 and at a standstill - an update to my last post

(My last post: https://fairygodboss.com/community-discussion/Hk9lSxcXU/almost-30-and-at-a) I quit the job where I was unhappy. The environment was toxic. I was working around two types of people: those whose main goal was to dampen your spirits and those who spent their 8-hour workday bragging about their latest sexual trysts. I started delivering food again to make ends meet and I went for a job interview a few days after my last day at that hellhole I used to work at. A few days after my interview, I got an offer for the job. I was so excited! This would be the highest paying position I ever had! I was scheduled to start work on my birthday of all days. Things were really looking up. Today, I received an email saying the offer of employment has been rescinded due to the coronavirus. In the end, the composer of the email said, “We wish good health and safety for you and your family.” Well, I may be physically healthy, but I don’t know how my family will survive if I am unemployed. I feel like whenever something good happens in my life, something happens to take that away. I really hate this.

While you’re job-searching contact employment agencies and companies who may need healthy individuals to fill in for the unfortunate ones who cannot work at this time. Negativity will just exacerbate the feelings you have but you are healthy, strong and willing to work, all of which will benefit you. Not a therapist - only an ordained minister online and if you’ve learned anything you’ll see that when one door closes another one opens. Stay in the belief that good things will come your way and I guarantee your life will change its course. Goodwill to all of us looking for better lives for ourselves and families.

I'm sorry this is your situation. Corona virus is ruining everything right now. I am a recent hire. I went through the hiring process just before covid-19 really hit the U.S. My hours are now drastically cut and I am in fear of job security myself. Hang in there. At least you know that you are hire-able. Send out positive energy so that this Corona crisis can blow over for the sake of everyone!
