Today I was on a call with three girlfriends.
We have a recurring weekly call since all this malarky started. Mondays at 10:30, we fire up the ZOOM and chat as though we are sitting on one of our decks with a steaming cup of freshly brewed tea in hand.
We cut each other off, interrupt and boss each other around a little, but in the end, we connect, and we support, and we hold each other in a proverbial ZOOM sort of way.
I have not told them that starting my week this way brings order, and peace, and relativity, and comfort.
It is a seemingly small thing as we wind the call down and get on with our day, but it makes me a little less anxious about the state of things.
It grounds me and reminds me of what is essential.
Please don't undervalue the power your words have for someone right now. We are isolated, and sad, and frustrated and scared, and a little seemingly meaningless banter might be just what the doctor ordered.
What are the small things you have done for others or others have done for you that are keeping you sane right now?
