On the right track ? ?

I work for a staffing company we are going through a lot of changes and i am finding our that we may not have been doing things on the up and up. I have an opportunity to make some real change and put us on the right track .... the problem is I don't have experience in this filed and i want to make sure i am doing all the things we should be doing.... My direct manager (apart of old management) keeps telling me that Staffing agency's don't have to go by the same rules I am hesitant to just comply where can i find rules and regulations are they different ?

Not knowing what types of rules and regulations you're referring to, one useful resource may be: https://shrm.org/

Being able to make real change is a great opportunity. Get as much information as possible on your current situation. What may be perceived as a rule could just be a way people have done something for years.

Good for you for seeing the opportunity in front of you. Also, glad you have some reservations. I'd question the things you mentioned as "same rules". Is it things around how to communicate with clients or are they policy related? Each state has their own set of policies and laws around hiring for instance. Use your state Department of Labor as a reference for items outside of your expertise.

That's amazing that you have an opportunity to make a real change. I'd ask a lot of questions beforehand with your direct manager but I'd also trust your gut in this situation.
