I have been with my current employer for the past four years.
I have applied for four different promotions. Three of them have been given to less qualified individuals that have been at the company less time than I have. I recently sent an email to my boss pouring my heart out and expressed my disappointment and concern for why I keep getting passed up. I also made a case for myself for all of the extra tasks I have been taking on trying to place myself in the position for both of the more recent promotions. I also asked for feedback in where I am going wrong. The email was ignored and not even acknowledged. I’m in a union and wondering if I should file a grievance because of the fact that I feel she is selectively promoting and selectively enforcing company policies as well? Or should I just cut my losses and move on? I have never felt that this Boss has liked me and she clearly plays favorites with other employees and I have never experienced this with any jobs I have had before.
