I'm currently employed and I hate my job. I no longer enjoy being in HR and the financial portion of my job is just data entry of invoices. I'm at a point where I'm bored and under utilizing my skills. The company has cut a lot of employee development opportunities and isn't investing in its employees, but is wasting money in other areas. There's a lot of toxic behaviors and poor managements. Employees are fist fighting and really carrying on even in this COVID-19 environment. Ppl are quiting or being terminated and so there's a need to hire ppl and the org. is hiring just about anyone. They conduct background checks, and as long as you're not a murderer, you'll get hired here.
I've been applying and virtual interviewing for jobs for about 2 mos. now. I have received a job offer in writing yesterday about a position and company I'm really interested in. The job start date is June 1st. It also states in italics that the start date is depending upon the COVID-19 reopening of the state. It makes total sense to me w/ everything going on. They have already completed my background check as well. Right now their staff is working from home, but they're planning to go back to the office June 1st or earlier depending on governor's order.
Should I put my 2 wks in. now? I'm only concerned because if COVID-19 goes well into July and Aug. I don't want to be in a situation where the company rescinds the offer or decides to suspend hiring due to COVID-19. At the same time, I want out of my current job ASAP!
