I started a class this week with hopes of a new career path.
One of the female students immediately assumed a leadership role & took over the project group. She's very domineering. It's caused my imposter syndrome to go full-bloom. Do others experience this when pivoting? Any suggestions on how to overcome?

Reach inside yourself and find self-confidence. She may not be aware of what she's doing, it may just be her personality. (I'm usually the one that steps up to a leadership role. Although I refer to it as an organizer role.) Speak up and make sure that you are heard. It's a group effort after all.

Since this is a group project, everyone will need to participate and do their part. Why don’t you decide which part of the project you would like to lead and express this to the group. Considering the world that we are in right now, you may suggest that the organization of the Zoom meeting or whatever service you use to organize group chats be organized by different members of the group so that one individual is always burden with that task. Be creative, but don’t be afraid to speak up. In the real world, managers appreciate employees who speak up with good ideas and are team players.
