I was recently terminated in the middle of the work day via email.
No other contact was made. No reason was given. I have no disciplinary actions and was a lead Manager as the only person left knowing how to do the job. The was almost 100% turnaround in my area with all men hired. The new boss, mine, had stated many times he wanted to hire all Christian males. He also was bipolar and would tell everyone he was changing his meds constantly. He would have erratic behavior, mood swings, yelling and screaming, slamming doors. It was a very tense and disruptive environment to be in. I was happy when we started to work remote to not have to experience that but he began calling and being verbally abusive as well as flaming emails. The turnaround was caused by him because he told people to “eff”. Employees would quit after complaining about him. They didn’t payout my last paycheck stating they will pay the rest during the next paycheck. I stated Illinois law is to pay everything. Apparently they don’t care. A week later I can not get anyone to return my calls from HR. I tried one last time yesterday and my old boss called back using HR’s phone. I’m suspecting so I would answer thinking it was HR. I didn’t answer because I know my old boss is a manipulator. He left a message saying if I had questions about what the company offered then call him and also call him for an exit interview. I will not be subjective to his abuse anymore. Any thoughts out there. Any and all help is needed. I am already going through a tough times with losing my dad a couple months ago and a good friend to cancer yesterday. I feel I need to file EEOC and Contact Dept of Labor for my pay.
