I have been with my company since it started. I joined as the sales and customer service manager, the only senior poisition in the company, with my only superior being the CEO/Founder of the business.
Since my 2nd month with the company I have been acting as the COO and introduced to all team members as the Operations Manager. This has been an awful lot of extra work and hours and commitment.
I also have 2 preschool aged children and work from home, they have never had an impact on my work, ever. I am very good at my job and what was my 'unofficial' job of Operations Manager.
I have just found out that a full time OM has been hired, I now have to train him, I will not be recieving the official title nor the pay increase that would have gone with this role.
When I spoke with the CEO, he said that I do such a wonderful job that he simply couldnt replace me with the customer facing role. I have increased his profitabilty by astronomicable amounts, I was wonderful as a COO. He said that my ability in the role of OM was 2nd to none...
Is this my glass ceiling, is it because I have kids? Is this my ceiling?
