Accomplished some small goals-getting all my 2020 paperwork put away to make room for the new year, as well as several small projects completed. Got all my annual training done, so I can focus when I start training next week for the new system we are moving into. Feeling more energized this year than I did at the same time last year-and I am grateful for that!

Wow, Laura! That's amazing. Do you have any tips on making an ERG successful? (We also have a group on the site for ERG leaders to share these kinds of tips and tricks!: https://fairygodboss.com/groups/sbzCcyR9H/erg-leaders-best-practices-tips)

I do! I actually did a workshop on successful ERGs for Quartz Network this year. Biggest thing is getting the group to decide "who" they want to be. Do they want to be a social group, do they want to get involved in business projects, are they focused on development? I feel many ERGs haven't figured out who they are so their offerings are all over the place. Once the group can decide who they want to be, it provides so much clarity and action

Yes! That makes so much sense — a mission statement is so important in driving success. Even if that decision narrows the focus of "who" they want to be, I can imagine that focus will provide much-needed clarity and can drive their progress going forward.

We finally received out shipping (relocated Internationally in Nov and packed and shipped in Aug) and so happy to be reunited with our things...sounds materialistic but we were so tired of living out off of our suitcases for months esp with two kids under 5!

I am celebrating a sense of peace. With all the work and family adversity that I have endured these past four years, I can now focus on my career growth.
May my parents rest in peace.

Lead by example and listen to learn

This week has been especially hard with new tax laws and deadlines. However, I am moving through the waters, seeing that others believe I have the ability to deal with circumstances that I would not otherwise feel that I am as confident in . I am learning to value that support.
