Long hours while WFH

I work in Finance and depending how busy my team is, I generally work (from home) until around 6-7. During quarantine, there have been multiple times his boss has pulled my entire team (4 of us) into calls until 11pm or midnight - once util 1 in the morning. No one else on my team has spoken up, but it is starting to really affect my sleep and mental health. Does anyone have any advice for how to handle this? I think the quarantine situation makes it worse because there is no obvious excuses for why I need to sign off! (I don't have children)

I suggest you start by asking some questions - perhaps first ask your co-workers if they understand why this is happening and if it is also impacted their lives/ productivity; a united concern is better than an individual complaint. Then ask your boss why the late hour - is there an emergency? Do we have customers who have demands that are driving late night work? Is the Boss's day consumed by home schooling such that late night is the only time for work? Is there a way we can communicate so that we can work the best hours for each of us and perhaps have a daily check-in at an earlier time? Your efficiency and effectiveness is being hampered, and others - including the Boss - are most likely feeling the same. A discussion of what can work for the team to serve the customer is a positive way to address the issue.

Are you in the same time zone? If not, perhaps a gentle reminder? Otherwise, 'hey boss, in order for me to [efficiently] complete tomorrow's work with this deadline to the best of my ability, I really need to get some rest.' Then bring it to HR if you need to.

Are you being paid overtime for the hours worked outside of your normal 8 hour day? Have you or your coworkers ever requested payment of overtime?
