Hello, I was wording what you think, coming from a group of intelligent women. I'm in search of some help. I'm looking to find some grants to help me start my child care center. I'll be very truthful, I'm flying by the set of my pants. I have found a great building that I can buy and convert over to a 24/7 childcare facility. I have ran a home daycare about 15 years ago and now I'm finding my career circling back around this to this much larger scaled adventure. I would not only create jobs within our community, but also provide a service that is rare and supports the nontraditional families and their needs. I have looking to see about grants to get started and get things going, but I'm leery on which ones are legit and which ones could be a scam. This is where I was hoping that you ladies could help me out. I'm willing to put in the time and the hard work to get things going, I just need some help with funding. Maybe this is not what I am to be doing. I'm willing to try. So, I'm leaving it in God's hands and hoping he shows me the way.

I am being promoted to a management role, but one of my colleagues is starting to resent it.
Even though I have seniority and have been performing the function informally, I suspect she views us as equals and has expressed a couple of times that she feels “left out” when my opinion is solicited and hers isn’t. The rest of the team will be formally reporting to me but my supervisor doesn’t want to force the issue with changing her reporting structure. We are otherwise good colleagues and I appreciate her contributions to the team, but I am not sure her w to navigate this dynamic. Appreciate any advice!

When they offer you the job, they will not take it back if you ask for more money and state why you think you deserve it.
There is no downside in asking. They may say no, they will probably move a little and tell you the top level they can go to. It is a mistake not to ask....no downside.

Taking a step back in my career due to layoffs - Anyone else experiencing this decision and how if you are, how are you navigating this ?
The market as we know is tough. Very competitive. I am running out of funds and I need a job. I have a little girl and a whole house to take care of, so I need to keep the show going. I am currently SaaS Manager. Love it, because it pays well and I get to work from home. Now, I am laid off and can’t get a job to save my life. I get interviews, make it to the last rounds, and no offer. It’s rough! 6 months down and well…. Yea …umm nothing. I finally decided to step back and get an executive role (no shade to EA’s, it’s a respectable profession). I got a verbal offer and pretty much getting this role. I expect an official offer coming my way soon, I am grateful but I am taken a salary cut, position step back and going onsite.
I will be continuing my search, in the meantime but I am worried about the gap and deciding wether or not to add this job on my resume to fill that gap, I am just lost and wonder if anyone had any advise ??
