How are you all staying motivated for certifications or trainings?
I am trying to stay motivated for work related certs and it is hard sometimes. One week I would be motivated and then the next week I want to do nothing. Please share you tips, tricks or advice.

I know it’s hard sometimes. I can understand, I am pursuing a Master degree in a totally new field and like you, at times I feel I’ve lost my mind for doing it. But then I think about the reasons why I enrolled in the first place and push on. When I start to feel like I don’t want to do anything, I’ll go for a walk to decompress or do something else that takes my mind off of it, and then I return to do my work. That normally energize me a little bit. Good luck!

Yes. I love the advice given above. Remember the why behind the things that you do are important to help keep motivation in fact. In addition, if it's a topic you have no interest but required for your job commitment than remembering the importance of the value of your job is helpful. Also, get creative sometimes I do work outside or in a different space so I don't always feel like I am cramping to get work done in the same space all the time. Hope these are some helpful tips. Let us know how it goes!

You won't always be motivated, create a habit to do X chapters per week and exercise before reading to fire up your brain and energy. :)

Great comments so far!
Another suggestion is to schedule time for training in your work and personal calendars. While you may need to shift based on other priorities, designating time for personal/professional development as been helpful for me.

It happens to everyone at one stage of the other. Just remember why you are taking the certification, think of projects you plan to do and create a timeline. In addition you can get a accountability partner, join groups or document your accomplishment each day eg #100daysof code.

I love that we have an opportunity to learn again! I have not had the chance for this much learning since college! I have become a learning sponge!

If this training is a part of a bigger goal, is the goal written? Once it's written, I suggest reading your goal once a day. Congratulate yourself on the step you're taking to complete that goal. If you haven't already, be sure you have a reward for completion of the goal. This might help motivate you on those harder days.
