My daughter works part time at a prominent employer in Florida.

They keep having her work close to 40 hours but will not give her full time because they claim there is a limited number of full time positions available per store and it also would mean a raise and stock options. I feel it’s unfair. Working over 32 or 35 should be full time as in most companies I’ve worked for. Some weeks they schedule her 24 hours only but then ever single day she has off the call her in to work 4-8 hours. She’s getting worn out, plus she walks to work since she lives nearby and chose not to learn to drive. (People in Florida don’t have to pass much of a test and there are soo many really old people driving here that the roads really are dangerous.) any advice? I have a coworker who’s brother is in the same boat with the same company. Should I get an attorney to look into their unfair practice of giving people 35-39 hours consistently yet not extending full medical benefits & their other perks?

I'm an older employee coordinating events for a university program in international studies.
I got very ill lately and was out for a few weeks on medical leave. Our admin claims she updated my event planning spreadsheet while I was out. When I returned, I checked the spreadsheet and didn't see any changes. I asked her about it and it baffles me that she would make that claim when I know I meticulously entered data she claims to have entered. Internally I'm calling bs but I didn't say anything. Similarly, our boss wants me now to cc her and the admin for all communications regarding new events - our practice has been to copy the main email address for our unit so anyone could if need be, find information (and on the planning spreadsheet). The fact is that it is already mid-semester, and there are no new events. It's gaslighting and micromanaging. I maintain my calm and good will but I no longer feel invested and am working for the insurance coverage. Once I can get onto Medicare part B, I will leave. Or that's what I'm thinking. I don't feel inspired and I'm not used to that. I'm very mission oriented.

I am experiencing wage compression.
New hires are being brought in for $4-$6/hr more than tenured employees. My director says there is nothing that can be done and it’s out of her hands. Employees are leaving one after another, and she is unphased, saying that we’ll all just have to cross train to pick up the slack until a new person can be hired. I’m responding with my feet and looking for other work, but I’m curious how common this is and how it has played out for others. Is leadership trying to get rid of employees that they don’t favor? Hiring new employees at the higher rate is no problem for them and it just seems fishy.

I gruaduated with BS in Accounting in 2020, since then all firms require some sort of experience to hire me, all other applicants have at least one year experience in accounting, I don't, 4 years passed, I worked side jobs like wellness coach and so forth, no company has hired me.
I have kids so I need something with pay. I can't do anything for free. so if no one hires anyone with no experience or unless they know them, how can a person like who knows no one in the field nor have experience in accounting find a job and start building a career? note that I graduated with HONOR meaning I studied my a** and graduated with all A pluses.. but what's the point?? Can someone help me? I need a remote job to start with as well.

Not really a question, but something totally crazy.
I was recently let go from a position via Indeed. I am not heartbroken, because the environment was extremely hostile and toxic, and I have reached out to an attorney for possible legal action. However, after 1 1/2 years of ongoing harassment to the point where my health started to decline, the company I was working for didn't even bother to terminate me in person. Instead, I was scrolling through the job boards and found the listing for my position. After reaching out to the HR manager, it was confirmed more than 24 hours later that I had been let go. There was no type of severance offered or any type of compensation. Fortunately, I'm ok for now, but despite the actual work environment, I was still floored. I had not mentioned contacting an attorney to anyone except my spouse, so this was completely out of the blue. How's that for an "I just got fired" story?
