Those dreaded performance goals. I don’t know about anyone else but they have always been a source of anxiety and annoyance for me. I never know what to write and the end result always feels insincere and forced, because… They are. The nature of my job is pretty straightforward and at the risk of oversimplifying things, it is what it is. So asking me to create some kind of performance goals feels impossible because my position honestly isn’t one in which there are too many places to climb. Does anyone have any tips on how to create these performance goals when there really isn’t anything to say?
