Irrefutable proof that you must reread your resume
Yesterday, I was on the phone with the hiring manager of one of my clients. He was making a decision between two candidates for a role that just opened up.
Both candidates had great interviews and he had a difficult time choosing which one to hire. While he was contemplating which candidate he would extend an offer of employment — he reviewed the resume of each individual more closely.
He noticed that one of the candidates had a grammatical error on their resume, and the other candidate did not. So who do you think he ended up hiring? Yep. The candidate who didn’t have a grammatical error on their resume. This might sound like a no-brainer but it’s a friendly reminder to triple proof your resume and have multiple people take a look to edit and/or share feedback.
