tired of toxic managers

Hi - I am testing this anonymous post feature. I am tired of working for women who are threatened by me. Current manager is holding onto tasks directly related to my job but will not give them up "because she likes doing them." I am focusing on other aspects of my job, reaching goals, and will see about revisiting in Dec for my review. Also going to begin looking for new work to see whats out there.

There is nothing wrong with looking for a different job. Toxic environments with insecure management poisons the job. Everything becomes a chore. Sometimes, it can even cause you to doubt your skills. Don't! You worked hard and achieved those goals. There is nothing wrong with searching for a space and management that will allow you to bloom.

I have gone through similar. It’s hard to understand sometimes that certain leaders prefer incompetent over someone smart but can excel due to their own insecurities. But Jenille, thanks for your post. I can tell you are pretty great. I wish I saw you post about this 2 years ago. It would have saved me a helping of grief.
