I know I need more self-discipline, better focus, and a stronger mindset to really stay consistent. I’ve started making small changes, but staying motivated every day isn’t always easy, especially when progress feels slow. ( I am 21 college student about to graduate next spring in undergrad) For…
In my previous positions this was frowned upon and this was not integral. But I’ve noticed when certain individuals ask me to do something. I would want to speak with my direct superior directly first. But these persons are or have no authority and go over my head and do not give me the…
I work in a unique department at a remote company where each of us on the team have vastly different roles and responsibilities that support the department as a whole. Unlike for instance, the marketing department or social media department where each person on the…
I’m trying to get serious about building a solid financial foundation for myself, but honestly, I’m not sure where to start or what steps matter most. I want to get better at budgeting, saving, and maybe even investing down the line, but it feels overwhelming with everything else going…
Lately I’ve been realizing how much I need more structure in my life. Between work, school, and personal goals, I feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up and not really making the progress I want. I’ve got big dreams, but I struggle with consistency and staying on top of things without burning…
I’m at a stage where I really want to level up in life—career-wise and personally. Too many companies are downsizing and there is a lot of competition. Also, some are hesitant to hire in the current environment. That said, I would suggest that you try posting your resume on the usual job boards plus a specialty job board or two in your area. Contract jobs are much easier to find and companies usually have an urgent need to fill, meaning that if you have the skills and are reliable, they are not so fussy about sex, age, and all of the other external factors. (I was able to get a well-paying contract job lasting over a year and at the time I was 71 with a 20-year gap since gainfully employed - however, did have quite a lot of volunteer non-profit experience in between). As you can see, it can be done. You may just have to be patient for a few months. If you need benefits, you can continue your job search, but meanwhile you will have money coming in to meet your ongoing needs.
