We've had coffee with the c-suite events for new hires. I've encouraged employees to join meetings early and have conversation/catch-ups like they would if we were having in person meetings, as well.

Virtual Town Halls are great - they're even better when they're unstructured and people have the freedom to participate.

I like to start my team meetings with some sort of fun question -- last week's was: if you could have any job in the world, and money wasn't an issue, what would you do? It's a great way to learn more about each other as a team, and break the ice on virtual meetings.

Last week, I attended a Netflix DJ and Discussion event. And it was probably one of the best networking events I attended unexpectedly. I connected with 10+ people on LinkedIn and heard from Afro-Latinx women who work at Netflix regarding culture, while listening to some good music beforehand.

That is pretty cool! How did you find out about the event?

They emailed me a week in advance. Not sure how I made it on their mailing list. I tend to attend a lot of webinars and in some groups so maybe from one of them.

My company has 30-minute "Town Halls" every Friday. Music is played 10 minutes before the meeting with a different genre every week. The senior leadership team gives an update on the company or just brings up what's happening in our industry. Guest speakers from our parent company also attend and share information including DEI programs, employee assistance, to environmental sustainability. We've had a number of fun interactive events, from trivia questions about the company, to naming movies from a still, to name that tune competitions, to matching pictures of home offices to employees. There's always time at the end for questions or to bring up anything that might be happening on a personal or professional level.
