My biggest fear...

I had a nightmare last night that I was sharing my screen at work and my multiple job applications came up! I tripled checked this morning that everything was clear before my meeting. Anyone else super paranoid about this??

Lol yes because you want to leave on your terms and not on someone else's. Also you need the job until you get another. So you don't want them to know you are looking. Paranoia is normal.

Oh no! We all have some sort of worry work-wise. The best thing you can do to prevent this situation is to avoid using a company computer to submit job applications. Also use a personal email as Mindy says above. And don't let on to anyone in your workplace that you are looking for work. That is only for you. Best of luck!

Ugh, That would be pretty bad!! I haven’t been in this position, but I did have a old coworker that used the fax machine to send his resume to another company. He forgot about that confirmation print out that shows the first page sent revealing his intentions. He didn’t get let go, but clearly he was uncomfortable until he left. For your own peace of mind, is there another laptop you can use? It’s definitely risky using company equipment to do a job search. What if a recruiter responded back to your work email? There is a chance your work email could be monitored by someone at the company. I’d try to find another way to get online. You can rent laptops, so do a search online for places that offer those services. Best wishes on the job search!

Oh my goodness Mindy—that’s pretty bad for your coworker! Being remote saves that fear. These are great suggestions. Thank you so much!

Hahahaha. I haven't had the nightmare yet, but every time before jumping on a call especially when I need to share my screen I am paranoid of having a job site, job applications or even my resume open. I'm on the same boat as you.
