Workman's Comp claims always result in issues, as companies pay through the nose for the insurance and each claim increases their premiums. They have to "walk on eggshells," as any hint of retaliation could result in a lawsuit, only creating worse problems.
Word of advice: Senior executives are not your BFFs nor should they be. Keep things professional and let some time pass to show them that you can move on from your injury and return to being a productive employee. That will speak more volumes than anything else you can do.
