So I just started a job at a doctors office which I have been working my way through a hospital to get my foot in the door.
Well I am now a patient service rep or office assistant as they often call us. However, I am feeling like I stepped onto a mine field. Not only was I tossed into a chaotic office where I am having to learn a ton of different stuff but I went from making 13.50 at my previous job as a screener which the hospital got rid of since COVID cases are down to now making 11.80 an hour. Where as I thought it would be a 40 hour a week position I have found that it is more like 45-47 hours a week. I really want to make this work and have this experience but I am already feeling overwhelmed mind you I just started. Any advice? I mean I am going on 40 and yes I do have a college degree in business administration but have struggled to find a good job and right now I fear I am going to not only struggle but also burn out and as a single mom 11.80 an hour kinda worries me when it comes to surviving.
