I’m having a rough time. I’ve done a career leap into the legal world, working as a client services coordinator at an estate planning firm. I’m very new to the office lifestyle, especially the high end like this. I am really having trouble communicating with my supervisor. Her emails are brash and unsupportive, sometimes to the point of rude. Her emails send me into an anxiety attack. I just had a five month review, it was spent reminding me of every time I’ve made a mistake and asking my process to understand how and why I do things wrong. I was even more upset since our review was an audio call instead of video. It’s been a really struggle to learn this new job, in a new field, with Covid-19, and now this communication issue is really getting to me. How can I address this? How can I move past this? Any advice is very welcome.
