How long should I wait for my internal promotion? (it feels like FOREVER)
I'm a recent college graduate who worked 40 hrs/week at my company last summer — and I've been hoping to land a permanent position at the same place. My manager constantly praises my work and hired me back after I graduated, noting that she was excited for me to take advantage of "more opportunities" at the company.
I recently had a meeting with a higher-up at the company, where they asked me if I'd be interested in a permanent full-time position. I enthusiastically said yes. Two weeks ago, almost 3 weeks after the initial meeting, HR asked to meet with me and asked the same question, to which I responded with another whole-hearted yes.
I haven't heard about any next steps from anyone, and while I'd really love a promotion, I'm starting to worry it might not happen. Can I do anything to find out more about the opportunity? Or should I just re-vamp my job search?
