Runners, what are your favorite non-cardio workouts?

What workouts do you do between runs? I am running much more frequently per week now than I ever have before, but I'm looking for good strength training options in between. I usually do yoga a few times a week, but I'd like to do something that's a bit more about building than stretching.

I like yoga too! Have you tried Crossfit or other strength and conditioning classes? They can be really empowering. Martial Arts can be great because you are actively learning while working out,

You can do the circuit of weight machines at your local gym, or try some body weight exercises. When I need inspiration, I go on youtube or Pinterest for exercise routines for nearly each body part. For instance, you can do walking lunges to build leg muscle, or tricep dips on a chair to define your arms. There are so many options that sometimes require no gym or weights.

I love using YouTube or Pinterest for ideas--there are some great vloggers who have videos for each body part, HIIT workouts, or just fun inspiration/storytelling ones. They're often easy to do at home, especially when they only require your body weight and no equipment!

I go to a class 1-2 times a week that is referred to as a 'build day'. We usually focus on either upper or lower body and exercises are high weight, low rep. After about 6 months, I feel so much stronger and have noticed a difference in muscle definition.
