How often do you bathe your kids?

This was a funny topic of conversation the other day when I found out my sibling bathes her kids every night. I then asked my mom how often I had a bath growing up and she said 2-3 times a week. And her reasoning was because she wanted me to build a tolerance for germs. I’m also sure it opened up her nights to not have to focus on making sure I was clean. Either way, I think I turned out alright but I now I’m genuinely curious... FGB moms, how often do/did you give your kids a bath?

Hi folks, Just curious why a daily bath is not considered a requirement in this country where water is not a scarcity! There are countries in the world where water is a valuable resource and people bathe daily!

Bathed my son almost every day. Nice for clearing out sinuses and not having that boogie crusted nose. If kids have any kind of outdoor allergies, they should bath every night to clear themselves of allergens, pollen that can be sticking to them and not carry that into their nice, clean bed.

I only bathed my kids around 3 x a week unless they got filthy and needed one. We need to let our kids build up their Holobiome which helps build up their immunity to germs. My Son is now 24 and rarely gets sick. My daughter too is healthy in that regard. Adults bathe more because we have body odor and oily hair. Kids don't.

My son (6yo) gets in the tub every night. Now if he's getting clean, that's another story... He usually plays until I make him get out. During that time, sometimes he bathes himself, sometimes he just sits. There's plenty of times where he gets out & his back is still dry. ? I usually bathe him myself once or twice a week, that way I know he gets a good scrubbing every now and then. As others have pointed out - we do it nightly bc he's in Kinder & kids are gross & covered in germs. Also bc that's how he starts to wind down for bed. Me, I shower at least once a day during the work week (I work FT M-F) . I usually take the weekend off though & normally don't shower until Sun night (unless I go somewhere that requires me to "dress up."

We bathe every 2-3 days unless they are really dirty. My youngest has very sensitive skin so less is always better for her so we just got on that routine.

My kiddos both have serious eczema so generally bath time is based on their skin, so we've done 2x day, once a day, every 2-3 days, etc. I do make sure they take a bath after getting sweaty or covered in sunscreen too. I think it boils down to what works for you. But I also don't bathe daily because I have eczema as well. We focus on clean hands and faces at our house outside of bath time.

Due to our religious beliefs and cultural habits showered my kid twice a day!

Bathing daily as a child helps develop a good hygiene habit as an adult. Who wants to work next to someone unclean and smelly?

We never used bath time as a wind down time for our son and would do baths 2-3 times a week. Summer tends to be more often if he is really getting dirty on the playground and sweaty. As he grows and gets smellier I am sure it will increase!
