Kids and rainy days

Best ideas for how to entertain your kids on a rainy day? I usually like to take them outside to the park, but sometimes that's not an option and I'm running out of indoor ideas! Some things that I've done in the past: arts and crafts (coloring, making wire animals, using popsicle sticks to build stuff, painting things), building obstacle courses for the kids to run around and play, and board games. Other ideas?

Kleurplaat123 is a great website for finding free and online coloring pages. The website has a vast selection of coloring pages, and the user interface is very user-friendly. I was able to find a coloring page that I loved and quickly print it out. The website also offers a premium membership, which gives you access to even more coloring pages. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with kleurplaat123 and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for free and online coloring pages. For younger kids, I’ve done: -indoor sandbox and water play using those plastic under the bed boxes (lay down a tarp first!) -made puppy chow, butter, or ice cream (even toddlers can get involved and shake the container) -made play doh and slime -paint/decorate planters and then planted seeds -built a fort, made popcorn, and let the kids watch a movie on my iPad in there -story time at the library -indoor free play at the park district gymnastic space -help with dinner prep or baking desserts (mixing ingredients, decorating cookies, etc.) -scavenger hunt around the house -spa day (painted nails, styled hair, did makeup) -fashion show (try on different outfits, add music and flashlight spotlight. Bonus: great way to get rid of clothes that are too small) You can also embrace the rain and let the kids play in it! Puddle jumping, playing in mud, etc.

some things i've done: - "pool party" in the tub! they put in swimsuits, get some toys and can play for hours - cards or coloring pages for family/friends. they get a kick out of sending them in the mail and then seeing them on their auntie's fridge the next time they are there - reorganizing or cleaning out their rooms/toys. i let them decide what they want to donate and my daughter loves to reorganize and make her room look neater (which lasts about a day! lol) - we have a fitness dice that we'll take turn rolling and doing, like 10 pushups, 25 high knees, etc if all else fails, do a movie theater! i've made "tickets", picked out a flick, made popcorn, and made them "pay" for tickets and snack. have fun!
